Collecting

I am an inveterate collector. I must have magpie genes somewhere in my ancestry. One of the talks I give (on ephemera) describes this phenomenum and allows me to display some of the fascinating material I have collected over the years.

My main interest is however in Postal History and I have developed a comprehensive classification system to enable me to find the material I have accumulated.

I have a small coin collection – mainly British saved from the change in my pockets.

I am building up a collection of images of Purley on Thames and have been leading a project to photograph every building in Purley during the Golden Jubilee year.

As well as collecting the objects themselves my background in information processing pulls me towards producing classified lists of what is available, not of what I have got.
