West Berkshire LEA

West Berkshire is a unitary council serving the major centres of Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford together with the western fringes of the greater Reading area. It supports 8 secondary schools, 68 primaries, two special schools and four Pupil referral units. It is a member of the F40 group of poorest funded education authorities but yet ranks very high for results.
