VALE OF WHITE HORSE

The Vale of the White Horse was formerly part of North Berkshire and has its administrative centre at Abingdon. Now part of Oxfordshire for local government purposes it occupies the south bank of the Thames stretching west to border Gloucestershire and Wiltshire with West Berkshire and South Oxfordshire to the south. Ancient Oxfordshire is to the north and west on the other side of the river.
